Grimlock, I am calling to check in on your recovery. I know we had gotten off on the wrong footing, but I hope we might put our differences aside.

[ optimus doesn't shift, he wants to, but his face stays posed into the camera. Keeping him as the leader he knows himself to be. ]

I apologize for getting as rough with you as I had. I'm just grateful I didn't bring in my trailer to that encounter.

[Grimlock regards the message warily. The real Optimus Prime would also be gracious in victory. But, humility alone does not make for a good leader. He needs evidence that this is a Prime who will defend his followers, who will honor the sacrifice s made by the Autobots through guiding them to victory.]

[Grimlock grins brightly on the video feed. He's proud to have earned a compliment from Ultra Magnus. The Ultra Magnus he knows is tough but fair--the Dinobots, with their clumsiness, didn't get many compliments from him, but those times he did praise them, he was absolutely sincere. As a bonus, he never dropped any disparaging remarks about them in conversation with other Autobots.]

Me Grimlock glad to help. Tell Grimlock if you need Decepicons smashed!

[His faceplate heats up as he remembers the deal with Riptide's head.]

[Aside from enjoying the compliment, he does have something he wants to discuss with Magnus.]

What Magnus think of truce on ship? And Wasp and Longarm?

[Grimlock appears to be appropriately ashamed of inconsiderate actions, which is more than what Magnus has seen from most mechs.]

I would rather not have another violent incident on this ship - it's more important to detain someone than to outright kill them. You could learn a few techniques on subduing opponents if you wish to help the Security Team. [Otherwise, poor Grimlock will have to do community service with Getaway.] However, I trust that you have learned from this incident.

[And hopefully is on the path to understanding that not all Autobots are good and not all Decepticons are heartless killers.]

Any cross-faction harm goes against the terms of the truce, and for that, I am grateful. I don't want to witness the carnage from an all-out war where bots can be revived after death. Meeting these mechs from a position of neutrality is less stressful than the alternative - and this goes for Wasp and Longarm as well. [He pauses. There's a lot to think about those two.] I'm preparing a case file for Wasp's defense when he returns to his universe. I can't disparage Longarm; he is an excellent coworker, but he has been indoctrinated by his Autobot upbringing to believe that Wasp is a traitor. It can be difficult to convince someone to change their mindset.

Hello, Grimlock! Not sure if you saw Ratchet's message but the most unusual thing happened to us after an evening at Mac's. We both wound up in the spacebridge room with many new memories. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but it has been very strange to say the least.

[ Had Grimlock been working the bar the night? Despite suddenly having several decades worth of memories, his recollection of the actual night was hazy. ]

My point is, I know the other dinobots now! From my universe, I mean. They really are a wonderful bunch, and if they're anything like your friends I can see now why you miss them so much. I'm going to find it quite difficult to be away from them myself, now. Hopefully they don't get into too much trouble without me. I imagine you've been having similar thoughts, haven't you?

You finally meet Dinobots?

[He's excited and happy for the other Grimlock, but also a bit jealous. He hasn't seen any of his own Dinobots for weeks now, and he's never been separated from them for so long.]

Me want see them too!

[His tone grows a little more somber as he thinks about what the Dinobots would be doing without him.]

Me guess Slag leader now. He always want be leader. But Grimlock stronger. And him always angry and full of cesium baloney. Can help Dinobots fight but no can do nothing else. Maybe Swoop and Snarl smart enough not follow him?

[He lets out a quiet sigh, and his posture sags a bit. He says something that he would only admit to himself, or, rather, another version of himself.]

Me worried. Hope they do nothing stupid. Miss them.

[They weren't always smart, but they were his brethren. They understood him and he understood them, better than anyone else could.]

Give me a minute, I've got a photo.

[ He turned on the screen for his arm computer and pulled up a group picture, Grimlock in the back with the four dinobots crowded in front of him, smiling. ]

I'm sure Swoop and Snarl will keep him in line, though his name is Slug in my universe, interestingly. The dinobots in our world weren't made by Wheeljack and Ratchet either, they hail from one of the colonies. Unfortunately it was destroyed and they lost their leader, but the four of them survived and made their way to Cybertron before I even met them.

They can handle themselves in a pinch, and I'm certain your's are the same. I do hope you get to see them again soon though.

[That said, he doesn't completely dislike the big guy, so he shrugs.]
